Left Behind…

About the time I became a full time projectionist at the theatre, there was another task that fell to me, one that I was less enthusiastic about. After work, I had to follow whichever manager was working to the bank as they made the deposit. Yeah, you know, so that if they ever got mugged, I could bust out my mad kung-fu skills. (If driving off while yelling “Stab ‘em once for me!” still constitutes as mad kung-fu skills.) It was really stupid and, more often then not, I would be off the clock before we even left the building, let alone during the time going to the bank.

Well, after tonight, I swear that’s going to change. It’s time I put my foot down.

Tonight, we went to the bank, same as always. We had even gotten out a littler early, so I was really looking forward to going home. Unfortunately, sitting there in the Huntington Bank parking lot, my car died. Even after making such a huge deal about how his car had been acting up and that the main reason I had to follow him was in case his car broke down, the manager drove off, leaving me stranded there. I had to call my mom and we tried to jump the battery, but that didn’t work so we had to call AAA. The guy tried jumping my battery a few more times before finally towing it down to Monroe. After getting so excited to leave early, it was a little after 11 before I got home. (About an hour after my normal time.) That sucked. Plus, we think the starter might be dead. Figures, just as soon as I have a little money saved up, that’s always when my car dies.

So, yeah, they can get someone else to follow them for all I care.

Man, and I had plans tomorrow, too, which are now null and void. I was going to get new shoes, which I DESPERATELY need. Oh, well, looks like I’ll be spending the day relaxing and lounging about. Not the worst way to spend a day.
